Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
I hope you all had a wonderful holiday break and you are feeling motivated to keep going (or get started) this new year. Even though I didn’t write and I was taking some time off to enjoy the break it doesn’t mean I wasn’t making any progress!
I completed the chest week and even went on to do a pull week. For the pull week I focused on doing as many pull-ups as I could in about an hours time. Not as many as I could in one hour but that I didn’t spend more than an hour a day on it. For the chest week, the recovery from day to day was very manageable. The first two days of pull-ups though were a little painful. My forearms were tired and my lats were tight.
Regardless of that though, I did do it and promptly took off the rest of the year and about a week more. I can’t say that the exercise challenges I’ve done were worthy of the break but the rest of life has been adding up. Taking the ~2 weeks off was awesome.
Recharge Your Energy
All forms of stress take their toll and it takes different methods to recovery from them. It’s important to recognize what’s going on and what you need to do to properly handle and recover.

Prioritize Sleep: Sleep is one of the most basic forms of recovery and growth. Don’t ignore it or undermine it’s importance for an extra hour of day walking.
Hydration is Key: Water is the only liquid you really need. As a coffee addict, I don’t want to admit it, but water is life.
Move Your Body: Even in recovery, a little bit of movement is important. Light exercise, like walking and stretching is important not only for the body but for the mind.
2026 Challenge Style!
I’ve thought a little on how I want to do some of these challenges and I think it will not only be more fun, but more meaningful if I expand the time horizon of the challenges. I’m going to start off with doing two challenges that last 4 weeks (1 month). Starting a new one every two weeks. The “off” week where I am not directly talking about a new challenge or updating on how a challenge went I’ll fill with whatever good things I feel need to be heard.
Cycling for hours
I like going to work on my bike and while the weather isn’t the best for it right now, I am going to be doing as much of it as I can. Tune in later as I talk about the goal and how I am planning on achieving it.
Stepping the distance, 10k a day.
Some things are just a basic requirement and if I’m going to start with something it should be simply moving. Watch out as I step my way through the day.

Share the Challenge!

Currently I’m the one doing all the things and the ideas of what to do are my own. The goal though, is for others to share thoughts/progress/stories. If you are already here at the beginning, lets get started! Otherwise I’ll keep chugging along until the little community I image becomes a reality.
Thanks for being here! More importantly though, get started and take on that challenge!
