The difference between saying you want to do something and actually doing the thing is not that much. The results make all the difference. There are a lot of famous quotes that emphasize this… Here are two popular ones that I also enjoy.

“Rome wasn’t built in a day, but they were laying bricks every hour” by John Heywood

“A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step” possibly by Lao Tzu

Of course there is also a very well known meme that by itself is a work of art…

After taking that first step into action, usually, the fear of starting is reduced and the desire to continue/get better/learn, begins. That’s the inflection point I want to focus on and encourage in others. I am not someone who is a master of one craft, but someone who has a very wide range of experiences and I want to share that. I’ll share more about me in an About Me for those interested.

Challenges

I haven’t done it yet, don’t shoot, but I’ll be posting medium to low quality home-made videos of any challenge I take on myself. At least that’s the plan.

It took me a while to decide on how I want to structure the challenges, partially because I want all aspects to be covered and partially because being too broad can water down the soup. I am going with broad for now and if that changes it will likely be because it’s what I or the “people” really want!

Topics

There are four categories that I’m splitting the challenges into. If I have a challenge that just has to be shared, I’ll do it regardless of its category fit.

Health

In this category I’m thinking of anything that relates to being “healthy”, which is a talk in of itself, and the only topic that I’m excluding from this if fitness. Which if you see what’s coming next… is its own category.

Fitness

This is a separate category because it is not only very diverse, but also extremely important to me. Being fit, caring about how your body handles and moves, is something that everyone should challenge a little. I also think that if I had to choose a category that would have the biggest impact on an individuals happiness, it would be fitness.

Finance

“Money money money, we can’t keep doing this Bob!” - The Incredibles

Money, our value assigning tool, is an important topic that I’m not planning to talk about in the traditional way. I’ll talk about things you can do and explore with money, ways to keep track and handle money and maybe even fun/interesting ways you can earn money. I’m hoping to keep these challenges more light hearted and fun, while steering away from things that could be considered advice or “in-depth” knowledge. Just go take a look to see what I mean.

Social

“We are all in this together” - High School Musical youtube link

I naturally lean towards the introvert side, but that doesn’t mean I don’t realize how important it is that we get along. Challenges here are about expanding your bubble and making the area better because of it. Some of these challenges may feel awkward since they’re the only ones that require other people, but if you believe the outcome is worth it, then the challenge is worth doing.

Enough of this post

I’m done saying a lot of nothing! Go check out the challenges that interest you or get ready to have them sent your way. Thanks for subscribing and you want a challenge? Challenge accepted!
